Six Sentence Sunday

Elena is relieved to get clear of Faolan MacGailtry, the darkly dangerous man she met on the plane to Edinburgh. Then he forces his way into her car at the rental lot and orders her to drive. He claims someone was trying to kill her and he was just keeping her safe. She is relieved when they do, in fact, pull up in front of her hotel. What happens next is a surprise to them both.

The Six
He groaned, and Elena felt the heady power of a woman who knows she’s desired-- she was being devoured and had no will to stop him. His kisses claimed her, and she wanted him to keep kissing her until her last breath.

Breathing heavily, he pulled back slightly and nibbled on Elena’s lower lip before running kisses along her jaw to her neck. With his face buried in her hair, he whispered her name once more, “Elena.”

Then he pulled away from the embrace, opened the door, and walked away without a backward glance. Faolan disappeared into the mist as though he were nothing more than a figment of her imagination.

Six Sentence Sunday

Elena MacFarland moves to Scotland as part of a lucrative settlement. For the third time since she's arrived, however, someone is trying to hurt her. Liam and his gang plan to raper her, and possibly worse, and out here on her remote farm, no one would find her for days.

The Six
Liam shoved Elena face first into the back seat of the Rover, slid the knife into the waistband of her jeans and with a jerky yank of the handle, he cut the denim open from waist to crotch.

A feral growl rent the night air, raising hair on the back of Elena’s neck. It was impossible to tell from which direction the growl came; it echoed throughout the yard and bounced off the walls. Everyone froze, and Liam’s grip on Elena’s hair loosened. She took advantage of his momentary distraction and kicked out with her boot, catching him in the shin.

The growl reverberated around the yard again, and then a disembodied voice said, “Leave!”

Elena tried to twist and aim a kick at Liam’s groin, but he recovered quickly and slammed her head into the Rover’s door with a resounding thunk- and the world went dark.
